It has a milky white, light blue and/or clear stone base with dendritic inclusions of manganese or iron that has grown into patterns like moss, lichen, hairs and grass. Sometimes moss agate crystals can be red, black, blue or brown as well as the traditional green colour. Moss agate is an appealing gemstone for those who adore gardening and agriculture - it is quite relaxing to look at as it is so reminiscent of nature. It is mostly found in western USA, central Europe, Uruguay and Brazil.
