Rocky Butte picture jasper is a famous jewel boulder found in western Oregon, USA, and has the most hardness of any jasper. It offers smoothly blended cocoa brown, tan, sandstone and cream colours, reflecting the desert landscapes in which it is found. The pictures are like those in Picasso jasper and are also similar to Eastern Oregon picture jasper. Rocky Butte picture jasper is considered to be from the oldest sediments originating from the ashes of volcanic flows. The pictures contained in it are thought to be useful for travel and journeys of any kind, including shamanic journeys.
These gemstone earrings are a lovely long organic leaf shape and feature a desert landscape reminiscent of the gemstone’s origins.
