Dendritic agate is sometimes called ‘picture stone’ or ‘painted stone’. It can be translucent and has fern-like markings in it (known as ‘dendrites’ – these are made of iron and/or manganese). It is one of the rarer varieties of agate and the dendrites crystallise inside the agate, forming the organic plant shapes.
This 92.5 sterling silver rectangular ring is made with a lovely scenic agate specimen (showing a ferny plant) and is a detailed picture in a rectangular cabochon from nature to you! The dendritic agate ring measures approximately 10mm from the top to the bottom of the cabochon and approximately 8mm across at the widest point. A gorgeous gemstone ring, with finely detailed dendrite agate.
