Dendritic agate is sometimes called ‘picture stone’ or ‘painted stone’. It can be translucent and has fern-like markings in it (known as ‘dendrites’ – these are made of iron and/or manganese). It is one of the rarer varieties of agate and the dendrites crystallise inside the agate, forming the organic plant shapes.
This 92.5 sterling silver ring is made with a good contrast scenic dendritic agate specimen (showing ferny plants) and is a lovely picture in a rectangular cabochon from nature to you! The dendritic agate ring measures approximately 13mm from the top to the bottom of the cabochon and approximately 10mm across at the widest point. A gorgeous gemstone ring, with finely detailed dendrite agate.
