Rocky butte picture jasper is a famous jewel boulder found in western Oregon, USA, and has the most hardness of any jasper. It offers smoothly blended blue and green colours, along with carrot orange hues, azure blues and cocoa brown tints, reflecting the desert landscapes in which it is found. The pictures are like those in Picasso jasper and are also similar to Eastern Oregon picture jasper. Rocky butte picture jasper is considered to be from the oldest sediments originating from the ashes of volcanic flows. The pictures contained in it are thought to be useful for travel and journeys of any kind, including shamanic journeys.
These rocky butte earrings feature a retro vintage landscape in blues, creams and browns that is 100% natural gemstone. Carved into oval shapes, the gemstone earrings are set in 925 sterling silver. The earrings measure approximately 46mm high (1.6” drop length) and are 15mm wide at the widest point. Each of the southwestern earrings has a handmade sterling silver fish hook earring wire.
